Filladhoo Sports Academy has organized a Football and Handball tournament for YDP students.
The tournament, which was held from July 6 to 14, was targeted at children under 12 years old and under 17 years old who plays Football and Handball.
In the under 12 age group Football Tournament, the Super Kids won the title with a 4-1 win over Jupiter Juniors. Ali Zaain of Super Kids was selected as the best player of the match. He was also selected as the top scorer in the age group, scoring total 11 goals. The top 5 players of the tournament of under 12 age group are: Ali Zaain (Super Kids), Ali Shimau (Super Kids), Yashal (Super Kids), Shamweel (Young Attackers), and Abdullah Ameer (Jupiter Juniors). Abdulla Jameel coach of Super Kids was selected as the best coach.
In the under 17 age group Football Tournament, Red Snapper won title with a 3-1 win over Green Giant. Hasaan Afzal of Red Snapper was selected as the best player of the match. He was also selected as the top scorer in the age group, scoring total 4 goals. The top 6 players of the tournament of under 17 age group are: Hassan Afzal (Red Snapper), Mohamed Firdhaus (Red Snapper), Hoodh Mohamed Khaleel (Red Snapper), Ahmed Eman (Green Giant), Ahmed Ahil (Green Giant), and Ahmed Mishal Mohamed (Blue Waves).
In the under 12 age group Handball Tournament, Little Queen won the title with a win over Unicorn in the final. Zeen Hassan Sameer of Little Queen was selected as the best player of the match. Aishath Ean Athif of Unicorn was selected as the top scorer with 24 goals. The top 7 players of the tournament of under 12 age group are: Aishath Ean Athif (Unicorn), Zeen Hassan Sameer (Little Queen), Ain (Little Queen), Aiminath Isha Naseem (Little Queen), Mahi Abdul Wahid (Unicorn), Luyoon (Unicorn), and Nawra (Mermaid). Fathimath Zahira coach of Little Queen was selected as the best coach.
In the under 17 age group Handball Tournament, Twinkles won the title with a win over Queen Bees in the final. Himya Hussain Latheef of Twinkles selected as the best player of the match. Shaniya Ahmed of Queen Bees was selected as the top scorer with 15 goals. The top 7 players of the tournament of under 17 age group are: Shaniya Ahmed (Queen Bees), Miusha (Queen Bees), Himya Hussain Latheef (Twinkles), Neem (Twinkles), Shauna (Twinkles), Rauna (Twinkles), and Naba (Queen Bees). Mohamed Jaufar coach of Twinkles was selected as the best coach.
This is the second year that Filladhoo Sports Academy has held the tournament to develop the skills of YDP children. The aim of the Filladhoo Sports Academy is to make them strong enough to be accepted by the society through sports and build a healthy generation.
