Draw ceremony has been held for Dhidhdhoo Cup 6th Football Tournament organized by Ha. Dhidhdhoo Council.
The raw ceremony of the Dhidhdhoo Cup 6th Football Tournament was held at Council and is scheduled to begin on July 20. According to Council, Clubs/Organizations based in Dhidhdhoo, registered with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Empowerment were given chance to participate in the tournament.
A total of 8 teams participated in the tournament. They are: Heevesnuvey, Reality, Asseyri FC, Dhon Hassan, Teenage Boy Sports Club, BX Junior, Black Zeno, and Naad Sports Club.
The tournament is planned to be held in such a way that the participating teams are divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group making it to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, Group A winners will play against the second team from Group B. Group B winners play against the second team in Group A in the semi-finals. The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be played on the night of July 30.
Two matches will be played every day in the tournament. A match in the evening and a match in the night. The opening match of the tournament will be played between Heevesnuvey and Reality.
The objectives of the tournament are to strengthen the unity among Clubs/Organizations of Dhidhdhoo, to enhance the football skills of the youth of Dhidhdhoo and unity among youth, and to provide opportunity for youngsters to play football in a competitive environment.
The winning team will be awarded with a cash prize of MVR 50,000 and the runners-up a cash prize of MVR 10,000.
