Digital X-ray services has been started at Haa Alifu Atoll Hospital.
The service was officially launched on Sunday, June 18, 2023. According to the Manager of Ha. Atoll Hospital, Adam Naseer, that it was the culmination of a nearly seven-year wait.
Moreover, he stated that earlier, portable x-rays were taken in the hospital, so only five X-rays were taken per day, but digitization of the service has put an end to that limitation. With this hospital can provide work permit medicals easier compared to before, he added. Noting that previously they can do a maximum 5 work permit medicals a day.
Furthermore, he also stated that the X-ray machine installed is a South Korean invention which can take an X-ray every two minutes.
In addition, Adam Naseer stated that the staff required for this purpose was trained by bringing the staff of the STO and a Korean company to the hospital.
