Night Landing Systems to be installed at Hoarafushi Airport and Maavarlu Airport

Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has stated that preparing Hoarafushi Airport and Maavarlu Airport for night operations.

According to RACL, they have started the process of installing night landing systems at the two airports and it will be completed in about a month’s time. While arrangements are being made for night flights to land at the two airports, a test flight was operated last week to start night flights at Kulhudhuffushi Airport.

Moreover, RACL stated that Kulhudhuffushi Airport operations will be changed to 24 hours soon and flights will be operated during night as well. Therefore, it will be a significant step forward in bringing the services provided at Kulhudhuffushi Airport to a new level and this will solve the problems faced by the residents of Kulhudhuffushi and nearby islands and will facilitate night air travel, and will ease problems faced by businesses, guesthouses and resort owners.
