Kulhudhuffushi City Council has stated that the installation of solar PV at three mosques in the city has been completed.

Kulhudhuffushi City Council stated that as part of the council’s ‘Finifehi City’ project, solar PV has been installed in three mosques as part of the project to convert electricity used in mosques in the city to renewable energy.

These mosques are Masjid Al-Firdhaus (5KW solar PV), Masjid Al-Hasanaath (25KW solar PV), and Masjid Al-Jamaat (20KW solar PV). As the project is completed in these three mosques, electricity bills of the three mosques will be zero and will permanently be able to use Air Conditioners in in the two mosques. In the first phase of the city council-funded project, solar PV will be installed in four mosques.

Kulhudhuffushi City Mayor Mohamed Athif stated that with council’s project for the first time environment-friendly green energy will be used and Kulhudhuffushi City Council aims to convert most of the energy-consuming areas under the council into renewable energy during the current term of the council.
