A batch of 50 Maldivian Civil Servants had departed to India to participate in a 2 week long Capacity Building Programme in Field Administration. 

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to the Maldives in June 2019, the CSC and NCGG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide training. Under the MoU, with this batch, the total number of trainees trained under the MoU would be 689. NCGG is committed to achieve the target of training 1000 civil servants in 05 years (by June 2024).

The batch consists of civil servants from institutions across Maldives like Ministries, Schools, Hospitals, island and Atolls councils, etc. The relationship between India and the Maldives is truly multifaceted. One of the main tenets of this cooperation is collaboration in the field of capacity building and training.

Moreover, during the two-week stay at NCGG, New Delhi, participants will have expert talks and deliberations on topics like India-Maldives relationship, Approaches for inclusive development, changing paradigm of governance, Ethical perspective in governance, Innovation in public administration, Gender and development: policies and practices, Centralized public grievance redressal and monitoring system, PPP for infrastructure development, Public Health behaviour, MSME and SMEs, Public contracts and policies, Climate Change and its impact on biodiversity, various initiatives in India for Poverty elimination, Skill development, etc., Right to Information Act, Anti-Corruption Strategies, Vigilance administration, e-Governance and digital India, Digital governance and public service delivery, tax administration and digital governance, Fintech and inclusion, Stress management, Sanitation and Public Health behaviour, etc.

In addition, as part of the training, participants will also get a chance to visit the beautiful and one of the wonders of the world, Taj Mahal.
