STO has won the ‘Faaroshi Bakery Corals Masrace 2023’ organized by Kulhudhuffushi City Club Corals this year.
The competition was be held on the day after Eid-al-Fitr, which was open to employees of Kulhudhuffushi offices and companies. The competition also allowed both genders to form teams or to make teams with only men or with only women or teams with both genders.
STO won the competition with a total of 137.1 kg fish. The team caught total 124 fish. RDC finished second in the competition. The team caught 69.5 kg of fish. Customs finished third with 65 kg of fish.
Ali Wahid of the customs team was selected as the male who caught highest number of fish. He caught 33 fish, while Raheema Ali from ADK team was selected as the female who caught the highest number of fish. She caught a total of 17 fish. Moreover, Abdul Qafoor of Fenaka team was the one who caught the heaviest fish in the competition. The fish he caught weighed 5.55 kg. STO’s Mohamed Nizar caught the longest fish in the competition. The fish was 31.5 inches long.
Furthermore, each year Corals waiver the registration fee for one team. This year Dhiraagu was selected after the lucky draw. Kulhudhuffushi City Mayor Mohamed Atif graced the closing ceremony. Zuvaan Masveriya Sajin was also present on the occasion.
Winning team of the competition was awarded with cash prize of MVR 7,000, for the runner-up team a cash prize of MVR 3,000, and for third place MVR 1,500.
