‘Ran’du Laki’ winner of Kethi Araa Masrace 2023 Men’s Category

‘Ran’du Laki’ has won the Men’s category of ‘Hanimaadhoo Kethi Araa Masrace 2023′, held as part this year’s Eid Al-Fitr celebrations.

Like previous years, this year too, the competition was held in two categories. On the day of Eid the fish race was held for the women’s category and fish race   for the men’s category was held next day.

‘Ran’du Laki’ won the title with 118.4kg of fish, followed by Silvertip with 93.5kg of fish, and Maakun Team finished third with 83.9kg of fish. Moreover, Dhirun Fishing team was selected as the team who caught the maximum number of fish with a total of 137 fish. And Mohamed Hussain of Dhirun Fishing team was selected for the one who caught the heaviest fish. The fish he caught weighed 5.9kg.

A total of 15 teams participated in the competition and the total weight of fish caught by these teams were 808.3kg. This year, the winning team of the competition was awarded a cash prize of MVR 7,000.
