Chief Guide and First Lady Fazna Ahmed has participated in the “Eid Project” initiated and organized by the Young Leaders of the Maldives Girl Guide Association.
On the second day of Eid al-Fitr since 2000, the Maldives Girl Guide Association has visited the Home for People with Special Needs in K. Guraidhoo and presented them with gifts in celebration of the festive holiday. Their yearly Eid Project has now run for 24 years straight.
The First Lady joined them in celebrating Eid, and she spoke with some of the facility’s residents to learn about their lives and general wellbeing. She also played various Eid games at the institution and shared gifts with them for Eid.
In addition, even during the COVID-19 pandemic also the event was not hindered as the Maldives Girl Guide Association held its one-day celebration virtually. Moreover, the First Lady has already made trips to the Home for People with Special Needs and taken part in virtual activities in 2020 and 2021, as well as the 2019 Eid Project.
