HDh. Hanimaadhoo Council has decided to release 2,500 square feet 200 land plots to the residents for housing.

At the 88th general meeting of the fourth session of the Council on Monday, it was decided to release 2,500 square feet 200 land plots to the residents for housing, as per the islands land use plan.

After 12 years current council, recently in January opened application for 3000 square feet 200 land plots to the resident for housing. Vice President of Hanimaadhoo Council Firaq Mohamed stated that more than 600 applications were submitted under the last round of applications for the 200 land plots January this year. Therefore, the Council hopes to provide land plots for housing to as many people as possible who meet the criteria.

Hanimadhoo is already in high demand for land. The largest airport in the north of the Maldives is currently under development in Hanimaadhoo, and with the completion of the airport, the demand for land in Hanimaadhoo will increase.

In addition, local tourism is currently growing at a rapid pace in Hanimaadhoo. A city hotel is currently operating in the island and guest houses are also operating in the island.
