Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the first shipment of concrete blocks required for Sh. Maaungoodhoo Harbour Development Project has been delivered to the project site.

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that 32% of new harbour basin dredging operations have been completed and is underway.

Under the project to develop Maaungoodhoo Harbour MTCC has to dredge 59013 cubic meter new harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 3245 cubic meter, construction of a 362 meter breakwater, a 105 meter revetment, and a 312 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of street lights, installation of 1509 square meter harbour pavement, construction of a ramp and concrete jetty. 

The MVR 59,713,156.38 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 475 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
