4th round of “Viavathi Raajje” conference to be held in HDh. Hanimaadhoo

It has been reported that 4th round of “Viavathi Raajje” conference will be held in HDh. Hanimaadhoo.

According to sources, the conference will be held in Hanimaadhoo from May 12 to 14, 2023.

The Viavathi Raajje conference is being organized under the direct leadership of the President to strengthen a decentralized governance system and to ensure the fiscal and legal autonomy of the local councils, based on the experience of the past year. The conference is being organized with government ministers, officials from the President’s Office, members of parliament from southern atolls, heads of government companies and professionals from various related fields.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ratified the 8th Amendment to the Decentralization Act, 2019, at the opening ceremony of the first Viavathi Raajje conference held on December 15, 2019.

The third Viavathi Raajje conference was held in L. Gan.
