The Top 10 contestants of the ‘KD Enterprises Dhidhdhoo Emme Aligadha Thari 1444’ Quran Competition organized by Dhidhdhoo Middle Sports Club has been selected.
Competition’s top 10 contestants of the were selected after the performances of first night of second round held last night at Thila Uthuru Maalam of Haa Atoll Educational Center in Dhidhdhoo. And 5 contestants were dropped from the competition last night.
Top 10 performers of the last night has reached to the second night’s show of second round, scheduled to be held tonight. And from the second nights of second round top 5 contestants will be selected who will be performing in the final of the competition.
The auditions for the competition were held in January this year. A total of 20 contestants were selected for the competition through auditions. With these 20 participants, the first round of the competition was held on March 23 and 24 at Thila Uthuru Maalam of Haa Atoll Educational Center in Dhidhdhoo, while 15 top performers from the first round made it to the second round.
According to Middle Sports Club, purposes of the competition are to inculcate love for reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of the people of island, to revive the art of reciting the Holy Quran in according to Tajweed, encouraging to memorize the Holy Quran, to encourage the developing Qari’s and Hafiz’s. In addition to develop participants who can compete at national and international competitions and since it is the holy month of Ramadan, to increase awareness about Quran.
The final of the competition is scheduled to be held on the night of April 6 and 7. This is the second edition of ‘Dhidhdhoo Emme Aligadha Thari’ organized by Middle Sports Club.
