A fundraising program has been launched by scholars and civil society organisations to help those affected by earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
The fundraising program ‘Eh Ummathekeymee!’ (One Ummah) was launched on Wednesday at a press conference held at the post building.
At a press conference held at the post building on Wednesday to launch the campaign, relevant information regarding the fund raising program was shared. According to fund organizers, several organisations like ‘Hidhumaiy Jamiyya’, Nasiha, Al Galam, United Islamic Society, Dharuma Foundation, and Zaathul Khair have joined the fund.
Moreover, on Friday, fund boxes will be placed at the mosques, and those who want to provide aid will be able to do so.
Furthermore, more than 42000 people have been confirmed dead across Türkiye and Syria after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake southern and central Türkiye, and northern and western Syria on February 6, 2023, several buildings and several thousands of people have been killed and many others have been affected.
International efforts are also underway to help those affected in Türkiye and Syria.
