Ha. Dhidhdhoo Council has opened the opportunity to participate in ‘Dhidhdhoo Council Masrace 2023’.
The purpose of the competition are to promote social harmony among the community of the island as well as to promote unity among the community. According to the council, teams can be made by the club organizations, companies, offices and individuals as groups. Each team can have a maximum of 10 members.
The winners will be selected on the based on the weight of the fishes they catch. Apart from the winning team, the runner-up team, the person who catches the heaviest fish will be selected. Moreover, even if a fish banned by the government are captured should be released and it will not be counted.
The winning team will receive MVR 3,000, the runners-up team will receive MVR 1,500 while the the person who catches the heaviest fish will receive MVR 500.
The Fish race is scheduled to begin on February 25 and the last date for submission of applications form 1400 hrs of February 20. The application form for participation will be available from the Council’s reception and its Facebook page.
