A Cancer awareness session held at HDh. Hanimaadhoo

HDh. Hanimaadhoo Health Centre has held a cancer awareness session in the island.

On the occasion of World Cancer Day at the session held at Hanimaadhoo Social Centre, very detailed, informative information on cancer was provided. In this regard, information on the vaginal cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer and leukemia cancer was provided.

Moreover, the session also provided detailed information on the causes of different types of cancer and the symptoms that might occur in the event of such a cancer. World Cancer Day is celebrated every year on February 4. The theme for this year’s day is “Close the Care Gap”.

Cancer is a disease in which some of the body’s cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. Cancer can start almost anywhere in the human body, which is made up of trillions of cells.There are hundreds of different types of cancer.
