Ha. Kelaa Council has announced they are looking for a contractor to design a Monument which represent the island.
Announcement published by the Council provided the detailed account of what should be considered while designing the monument. In this regard, the proposed design should be original and should not be included in a copy of a monument or part of a monument, nor should it be a design that has been done to some other party else in the past or submitted to some other party.
Moreover, proposed design should be submitted along with drawings from different angles and the monument design should be visible throughout the night. Also, the proposed design should be such that it can be constructed with cement or any other metallic material, and metallic materials which can be used to for the construction of specific parts of the monument should be explained in detail separately.
Furthermore, the proposed monument should represent Kelaa and reflect one or more activities specific to Kelaa or the culture of the island or the talents of the island. The Council further stated that the council can may request the winning applicant to bring a minor change in the design so that the original (composition and concept) of the design is not lost, and that the changes sought to be made in such a way should be made by the designer at no additional cost.
In addition, a cash prize of MVR 8000 will be given to the person who submits the monument design selected for use in the council. Therefore, council requested interested parties to submit their designs to the council via email ([email protected]) before 1400hrs of February 25, 2023.
