A cake and pastry workshop has been conducted in Sh. Noomara.

The 7 day workshop was organized jointly by the Atoll Council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) with the assistance of the Island Council. And as a fee MVR 100 was charged from each participant. All the 8 participants who participated in the workshop received certificates after completion.

According to the President of Noomara Council Ali Rabeeu, aim of the conducting the workshop is to facilitating a pathway for the women to earn money while working from home. And island has a high demand for cake and pastry. Rabeeu also noted that it was a very successful workshop. He added that the workshop was funded by the atoll council’s budget.

Speaking about the workshop, Noomara WDC President Ziyadha stated that course was taught by women from the island who has completed a Level 3 course in the field and is also actively working in the island. Ziyadha noted it is better to use talents from island instead of bringing from another island or Male’.

In addition, Ziyadha stated all the equipment for the workshop was provided by the WDC.
