Ha. Uligamu Council has held this year’s “The Great Maldivian Barbecue 2023”.
The barbeque event being held in Uligamu is the largest barbeque event being held in the Maldives. Although the event was initially held after the Ramadan, currently event is held by the council on January 1 every year.
More than 600 fish were grilled at the event last night. To conduct the barbecue event successfully various tasks were divided into groups among the public to carry out the fishing and other arrangements for barbecue.
The purpose of the fishing event is to revive the traditional culture as well as to strengthen relations between the people of the island’s.
