Club Corals has won the ‘MTCC Kulhudhuffushi Championship 2022’ organized by Kulhudhuffushi City Council.
Corals won the final match played yesterday at Kulhudhuffushi Zone Stadium Football Ground against Society for Kulhudhuffushi Youth (Sky) 1-0. Corals won the tournament by winning all the matches they played. Mohamed Rasheed (Hockey) was selected as the best player of the final match.
At the end of the final, the closing ceremony of the tournament was held and trophies and medals were handed over to the winners Ibrahim Waheed of Sky was the top scorer of the tournament, Mohamed Aalim of Sky was selected as the best defender, Saalim Mohamed of Maattey Sports was selected as the best young player of the tournament, Mohamed Dawood of Corals was selected as the best coach, Ismail Easa of Corals was selected as the best forward, Kaub Shareef of Corals was selected as the best goal keeper, Mohamed Rasheed of Coral was selected as the best midfielder and best player of the tournament. Sky is the runners-up team in the tournament and Maattey Sports was selected as the fair play team for the tournament.
Moreover, the winning team was awarded with MVR 50,000 while the runners-up was awarded with MVR 10,000. And cash prizes and trophies were given to other selected winners from matches and tournament.
A total of five teams participated in the tournament. The teams are Society for Kulhudhuffushi Youth (Sky), Club Corals, Zigzag for Youth Linkage, Kulhudhuffushi Ekuveringe Dhirun (Ked), and Maattey Sports.
The objectives of organizing the tournament include providing an opportunity to all football lovers, including the youth of Kulhudhuffushi, to enhance the football skills of the youth, to produce youth who play football at the national level in the city and to make the city a supportive island for the development of football. Taking football to a new level in the city and keeping the youth away from crime are also the objectives of organizing the tournament.
