Society for Kulhudhuffushi Youth (Sky) has won yesterday’s match played against Maattey Sports in the ‘MTCC Kulhudhuffushi Championship 2022’ organized byKulhudhuffushi City Council.
Sky won the match 19-1 against Maattey Sports yesterday evening. In the match Ibrahim Waheed of Sky scored 13 goals and he was selected as best player of the match.
The eventh match of the tournament will be played between Club Corals and Zigzag for Youth Linkage at Kulhudhuffushi Zone Stadium Football Ground at 1550 hrs today.
A total of five teams participated in the tournament. The teams are Society for Kulhudhuffushi Youth (Sky), Club Corals, Zigzag for Youth Linkage, Kulhudhuffushi Ekuveringe Dhirun (Ked), and Maattey Sports.
The tournament is planned in a way that each team meets each other and the team with the highest points gets the first place in the final. The second place in the final will go to the winner of the semi-final between the second-placed team and the third-placed team at the end of the group round of the tournament.
The semi-final match of the tournament is scheduled to be played on December 17, and the final will be played on December 9.
The objectives of organizing the tournament include providing an opportunity to all football lovers, including the youth of Kulhudhuffushi, to enhance the football skills of the youth, to produce youth who play football at the national level in the city and to make the city a supportive island for the development of football. Taking football to a new level in the city and keeping the youth away from crime are also the objectives of organizing the tournament.
In addition, the winning team will be given MVR 50,000 while the runners-up will get MVR 10,000. And cash prizes and trophies will be given to other selected winners from matches and tournament.
