HDh. Nolhivaram has won the first place of Haa Dhaalu Atoll Quran Competition 2022.

Nolhivaram defended the first place of the competition, Vaikaradhoo won the second place in this year’s competition and Makunudhoo finished third. The competition was held from 6 to 8 of this month.

Second place Key Stage 3 non-memorized category – Fathimath Nabat/ Nolhivaram.

Second place in key stage 4 non-memorized category – Raya Anwar / Makunudhoo.

First place from Key Stage 2 non-memorized category – Ali Nazih / Vaikaradhoo.

First place from key stage 4 recitation branch – Faiha Abdulla Aqeel/ Vaikaradhoo.

According to Atoll Council islands participated in the competition are Makunudhoo, Vaikaradhoo, Nolhivaram, Nellaidhoo, Neykurendhoo, Kumundhoo, Nolhivaranfaru, Kurinbi, Hirimaradhoo, Naifadhoo, Finey and Hanimaadhoo.

This year’s competition was held from October 6 to 8, 2022. A total of 130 students from 12 islands will compete in this year’s competition. They are 35 students in the memorized category and 95 students in the non-memorized category.

The competition is held annually by the Atoll Council with the aim of to inculcate love for reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of the people of the atoll and reviving the art of reciting the Quran. However, the competition was not held last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
