Ha. Dhidhdhoo Council has opened the opportunity to participate in the council’s first Veterans Cup Football Tournament.
Club organizations from Dhidhdhoo registered with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment will be given the opportunity to participate in the competition.
According to the council, the objectives of the competition include promoting unity and harmony among the clubs in the island and elderly people of Dhidhdhoo, strengthening social relations and promoting sportsmanship. Also, to develop skillful footballers and promote healthy lifestyle among the people of Dhidhdhoo.
Therefore, the council requests those who wish to participate in the competition to submit their team registration forms before 1300hrs of October 16, 2022, and submit players and officials list before 1300hrs of October 23, 2022. Moreover, all the forms and regulations of the tournament will be available from reception of the council during official hours.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 25, 2022. The winning team will be awarded MVR 7,000, the runner-up team will be awarded MVR 4,000 and the fairplay team will be awarded MVR 1,000. The tournament will be played at the Dhidhdhoo Football Ground.
