Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem has launched the National Electronic Immunization Registry.

The Electronic Immunization Registry was launched at a special ceremony held today. The Electronic Immunization Registry is hosted on the DHIS2 health data platform, which is used in many countries to gather and analyze various types of health information and is being implemented with the assistance from WHO and UNICEF.

This electronic register offers a single digital platform for accessing, logging, and managing data pertaining to vaccines administered to children from any vaccination facility nationwide. This platform will maintain a single record for all immunizations delivered to children across various sites. This makes it possible to follow each child’s immunization history over time starting at birth.

Therefore, the platform offers a way for vaccination centers to quickly verify a child’s previous immunization records. Additionally, it will help the National Immunization Program keep track of the nation’s immunization coverage in a timely manner and ensure that every kid is completing the vaccinations as per the national immunization schedule.

The National Immunization Program strives to protect children from diseases that can be prevented by vaccination by giving all eligible children prompt, effective immunizations.
