Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced Sh. Maaungoodhoo Harbour Development Project.

The ceremony held to commence the project on the island was attended by Funadhoo constituency MP Mohamed Shahid, Maaungoodhoo Council President Adam Saleem, CEO of MTCC Adam Azim and senior officials of the company.

Under the project to develop Maaungoodhoo Harbour MTCC has to dredge 59013 cubic meter new harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 3245 cubic meter, construction of a 362 meter breakwater, a 105 meter revetment, and a 312 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of street lights, installation of 1509 square meter harbour pavement, construction of a ramp and concrete jetty. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.

The value of the project is MVR 59,713,156.38 million and the project is awarded to be completed within 475 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
