Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL), along with Repiscan’s authorized service provider, have been brought to the Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA) standard.
The change is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Defence under the supervision of Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi, in line with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s policy to strengthen aviation security in the Maldives.
The new machines were installed at Kulhudhuffushi Airport in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Funadhoo Airport in Shaviyani Atoll, Fuvahmulah Airport and G. Dh. Maavarulu Airport. And machines installed at four airports operated by regional airports have been permitted to be used.
The screening machines used at all airports maintained by RACL are x-ray machines on the “Maldives Aviation Security Screening Technology” list compiled by the Ministry of Defence. The machines installed at 4 airports by RACL are also Repiscan brand machines. RACL is also the authorized service provider of the brand.
RACL stated that this will solve the issues faced by screening machines expeditiously. The company further stated that resolving the issue of the screening machines will make it easier for the company and the public to travel.
