MAPS College has successfully commenced Certificate 3 in Information Technology course under Transparency Maldives ‘Funaru Programme”.

Funaru Programme is part of the “Promoting Resilience in Maldives (PRIME)” project run by Transparency Maldives with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Under the programme, students will be taught certificates 3 in IT courses at MAPS College, as well as skills required for social and economic empowerment. Moreover, course will also teach students the skills they need in the job environment by familiarizing them with the information technology sector. These include ethics and how to manage time efficiently at work environment.

MAPS College stated that while students who successfully complete the course will be given special internship opportunities, this will provide a basis for higher education in the field of information technology. Furthermore, classes will be taken by the experienced lecturers of the MAPS College and students will have the opportunity to experience the computer lab of MAPS College, developed with modern facilities.

In addition, Transparency Maldives expressed that they hope the programme, which is open to the participants between the ages of 16 and 35, will produce useful youths in need of society.
