Ha. Dhidhdhoo Council has opened the opportunity for registered clubs in the island to participate in the 5th Council Football Tournament.
According to Dhidhdhoo Council, purpose of the tournament include promoting unity and harmony among the island’s registered club organizations, strengthening social relations and maintaining the spirit of sportsmanship. Moreover, to develop talented youths who can compete at national level and provide sports opportunities for sports clubs and the youth.
The winning team of the tournament will be awarded MVR 10,000 while the runner-up team will be awarded MVR 5,000. The fairplay team will receive a cash prize of MVR 1,500.
Furthermore, apart from champion team, runner-up team and fair play team, top scorer, best defense player, best midfield player, best forward player, best goalkeeper, most promising player, best player and best coach of the tournament will be selected.
As per the Council’s announcement, the deadline for submitting team registration forms to participate in the tournament is 1300hrs of August 10, 2022. And players and officials registration forms should be submitted before 1300hrs of August 22, 2022.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on August 28, 2022.
