Haa Dhaalu Atoll council has opened the opportunity for the interested councils in Haa Dhaalu Atoll to designate an island to host this year’s Atoll Quran Competition.
According to the Haa Dhaalu Atoll council, they plan to conduct the Quran competition from October 6-8, 2022.
Moreover, this year’s competition will be held in two categories both memorized and non- memorized, and is divided into six age groups. They are under the age of 6, under the age of 9, under the age of 12, under the age of 15, under the age of 18 and above the age of 18.
The Haa Dhaalu Atoll Quran Competition is a competition held between island of the Haa Dhaalu Atoll. Most of the islands in Haa Dhaalu Atoll participates in the competition.
The competition is held annually by the Atoll Council with the aim of to inculcate love for reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of thepeople of the atoll and reviving the art of reciting the Quran. However, the competition was not held last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last Atoll Quran competition was held in HDh. Nellaidhoo, from April 18 to 20, 2019. A total of 132 participants from 11 islands of the atoll competed in the competition. HDh. Nolhivaram won first place in the tournament.
