Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has brought in 36 minibuses to start minibus services.
The buses brought by the company arrived in the Maldives yesterday. According to MTCC port clearance work is currently underway.
Inorder to start the minibus services in the Maldives, MTCC has decided to bring 41 buses to the Maldives. And company stated that the remaining buses will arrive during this month.
Moreover, initially minibus services will be provided in Male’, Addu, Fuvahmulah and Laamu Atoll. MTCC plans to launch minibus services on July 31, 2022.
The introduction of minibus services is a pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The project was awarded to MTCC by the government in 2019.
