Italy’s new flag carrier, ITA Airways has scheduled to commence its operations to the Velana International Airport, Maldives.

The airline stated that the flights will begin on December 17, 2022, to March 26, 2022, which is the peak travel season from the European travelers. According to the airline, flights will be operated seasonally and all year around for this route. 

Moreover, ITA has announced that with the first flight between Roma and Male’ will be held on December 17, 2022, the airline will operate flights to the Maldives three days a week till end of the January and then will reduce operations to two flights per week at the end of January till end of winter schedule.

ITA Airways was established in 2021 when Italy’s national airline and the country’s largest airline Alitalia, went bankrupt.
