Turf Football pitch developed in Ha. Ihavandhoo opened unofficially

The Turf Football pitch developed in Ha. Ihavandhoo has opened unofficially and begun to be used.

The Turf Football pitch was unofficially started using from yesterday onwards. Two teams selected from the island’s men’s youth played a friendly football match yesterday to unofficially open the pitch.

According to the Ihavandhoo Youth Associate Ali Rameez, the turf field has been open for youth use since yesterday, however stadium would be officially opened at a later date. Moreover, Ihavandhoo MP Mohamed Shifau thanked the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for developing a a large football stadium as per the president’s pledge.

Development of the Ihavandhoo Turf Football Stadium commenced on April 21, 2022.
