Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology has awarded the construction of HDh. Kunburudhoo Waste Transfer Station Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

At a ceremony held at the Ministry of Environment, agreement was signed by Deputy Minister Mohamed Ansar on behalf of the Ministry and COO Shahid Hussain Moosa signed on behalf of MTCC.

Under the project site clearing and concrete works, screed and block works, roof structure, perimeter drain and access ramp will be undertaken. In addition, an Environmental Impact Assessment will be conducted before commencing the project.

Hdh. Kunburudhoo will serve as a waste transfer station to the islands of Zone 1 including all islands of Ha. Hdh and Sh. Atoll.

The MVR 7.67 million project was awarded to MTCC to be completed within 140 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
