Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has awarded ADh. Dhigurah Harbour Upgrading Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed, and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company.

Under the project to upgrade ADh. Dhigurah Harbour MTCC has to dredge 64416 cubic meter harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 6770 cubic meter, construction of a 287 meter breakwater, a 98 meter revetment, and a 294 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation street lights, installation of 1640 square meter harbor pavement, construction of a ramp and concrete jetty. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
