Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the project site has been mobilized for R. Alifushi Land Reclamation and Airport Development project.
According to the MTCC, project site was mobilized on April 9, 2022.
Under the project, 50.5 hectares of land will be reclaimed, revetment will be constructed in an area of 2,871 meters and groyne will be constructed in an area of 480 meters to protect the beach of the reclaimed land. Moreover, project also includes the construction of a runway, a taxiway, apron, service road, a terminal building, a fire building, installation of firefighting equipment, and a 655 meter security fence.
The project is worth MVR 451.6 million.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbors.
