Feevah WDC commenced a Beach cleaning program

Feevah Women’s Development Committee (WDC) has commenced a beach cleaning program on the island.

According to the President of the Island’s WDC Mariyam Reesha, the program is planned to be conducted once or twice a month in collaboration with the council.

Even though members of the council were unable to participate in today’s event, the event was carried out by WDC from 0630hrs to 0830hrs. 

Moreover, Reesha added that they are planning to include residents of the Island in the event in the future. Reesha also noted that the main purpose of conducting such an event was to clean the islands and eliminate plastic materials.

In addition,  WDC has planned to carry out activities for the development of the island. These include special courses for women, cleaning activities in the islands, and the establishment of a picnic area in the island.
