Course to teach how to make jewellery started in Kelaa

Kelaa Women’s Development Committee (WDC) in collaboration with Maldives Authentic Crafts Cooperative Society (MACCS) have commenced a course to teach how to make jewellery in the island.

President of the Kelaa WDC, Hawwa Fazna stated that the course is conducted for the women of the island. And 5 days course started with 17 participants on November 25, 2021. 

Course will be conducted by  three experienced women’s current working in Male’ city. Apart from how to make jewelry, how to market the products will be taught at the course.

Moreover, according to WDC, the aim of conducting such a course is to teach women how to earn an income from home. They also noted the difficulties faced in conducting the course due to the unavailability of a standard size hall.

In addition to the support of the members of the WDC, the WDC also thanked the women and island councils for their assistance in conducting the course.
