Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the first shipment of precast concrete blocks required for quay wall construction of HDh. Hanimaadhoo Harbor was delivered to the project site on November 17, 2021.
MTCC also updated ongoing works stating that existing harbour quay wall repair work is currently ongoing.
Under the project to develop Hanimaadhoo Harbour, MTCC has to dredge 53523cbm of harbour basin; also to dredge 31576cbm from currently used harbour basin; construction of a 355m breakwater; a 50m revetment; a 270m quay wall. In addition, the installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights, and developing a 2583 square feet paved area will be undertaken.
The project has been contracted to MTCC with a budget of MVR 57.1 million. Physical work of the project started back in May 2020.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports and harbors.
