Shaviyani Atoll Council requests President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to speed up the construction of resorts in Shaviyani Atoll that are currently under construction.
The request was made in a meeting held with the president. During the meeting council highlighted that they will cooperate with the central government in all the activities related to the development of the atoll.
Moreover, during the meeting, the council discussed the most essential issues for the atoll as well as the concerns of the residents of Shaviyani Atoll.
Furthermore, the council requested to improve transportation, medical facilities, accessories required for development of the education sector and discussed the difficulties the council faces due to a lack of suitable office space.
Regarding the concerns of the council, President Solih stated that he would bring these concerns to the attention of the appropriate government agencies and address them accordingly.
In addition, President Solih announced that a mini hospital will be built in Sh. Milandhoo and will work on upgrading Sh. Funadhoo airport, so that night flights can be operated.
