Undocumented foreign workers in Ha.Kelaa have the opportunity to register

Councils have decided to give undocumented foreign employees working in Kelaa the opportunity to register.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, the operation to register undocumented foreign employees will commence in the first week of September 2021.

Council’s announcement regarding the operation stated that undocumented employees will not be allowed to work or stay in the island.

President of kelaa council Abdulla Infaaz stated that even now there are several undocumented employees working in the island on different projects.

he further added that if something happens to a foreign employee and no one is liable for them, various concerns arise. consequently, they will be unable to obtain their rights. as a result, it is critical to register them and to have legal status to obtain the rights they deserve.
