Bidding is open for developing the concept plan of the Industrial prison that will be built in HDh. Neykurendhoo.
According to the announcement by the Ministry of Home Affairs, they are looking for a developer to develop Neykurendhoo prison as per the guidelines provided by the Ministry.
The bidding registration deadline is August 29, 2021 at 1200 hrs. And bid submission and opening is scheduled for September 6, 2021, at 1000 hrs, at Velaanaage 10th Floor.
Furthermore, as stated in the announcement, bids from those who have not registered will be rejected, and an information sheet about the bidding will be provided to those who have registered, before 1400 hours of August 30, 2021.
The project was supposed to commence last year, but it has yet to get started. Since the project was delayed, Mohamed Raai, Member of Parliament representing Neykurendhoo, has already questioned Home Minister Imran Abdulla through parliament and asked for a formal response.
Parliament member Raai wanted to clarify, when the project will begin and because there is a budget dedicated for the project each year, what was that budget utilized for. In addition, to provide all project-related information.
