Hanimaadhoo School has announced that they are looking for students to study their A Level studies at Hanimaadhoo School after a period of discontinuation. They discontinued their A Level programs after 2018 due to lack of students to conduct classes.
If the School receives enough applications from students interested in studying, both Science and Business streams will be offered to study at the School.
Students must pass the Secondary School Certificate Dhivehi or Islam in order to apply for the Science stream. Also, students must have two passes from the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at the O’level/IGCSE. In addition, one passes from other IGCSE or O’level subjects.
Similarly for Business stream also a pass from SSE Dhivehi or Islam is required. And they must have two passes from the following subjects: Commerce, Accounting, and Economics at the O’level/IGCSE. In addition, one passes from other IGCSE or O’level subjects.
Other requirements include: students must have completed their O’levels after October 2019, they must not have been charged with a crime under the Maldivian law, and they should not be married.
According to Abdul Muhsin Abdul Latheef, the Principle of Hanimaadhoo School, there are students from the last batch of O Levels who meet the criteria to enroll in A Levels. As a result, they’re talking to the PTA and Council about resuming A Level programs after discontinuation.
He further stated that the Ministry has assured them that even if ten students apply for both streams, they will be able to restart their A Levels programs at the school.
For interested students, application forms will be available and can be submitted to the school office between 0800-1400hrs, from 18th August 2021 to 05th September 2021.
