“Mayor Mohamed Athif” – Kulhudhuffshi City’s First Ever Mayor

The ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s mayoral candidate Mohamed Athif has been elected as the first Mayor of Kulhdudhuffushi City.

Athif contested against the opposing Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)’s candidate Abdulla Iqbaal and two independent candidates, Ahmed Saeed and Adam Shareef Mohamed for the Mayor seat.

Preliminary results show that Athif received 2144 votes, claiming 55.82% of the total votes casted.
