A club registered at Ha. Ihavandhoo, namely Club Polestar has started a futsal tournament by the name, “Hama roalhi futsal tournament 2020”.
The tournament is directed specially for the kids who loves to play futsal at the island. The age limit for the tournament is between 13 years and 16 years of age. The tournament has started and are underway from the 8th of this month.
At the first day of the tournament, two teams from under 13 played. The first match was won by NVK by a big difference of 6 goals to 1. The man of the match of was NVK’s jersey no. 7 Ali Naaish Ahmed. Second match was won by even a bigger difference by team Charlie with 10 goals scoring.
In this tournament, from the age category of under 13, 6 teams participated. And 4 teams participated from the age category of under 16 as well.
The system of the tournament is to play each team against each other and the teams with the most number of points are to be allowed to go to the final match. Under 16s final is to be played on the 16th of December while under 13ths final will be played on the 17th.
Club Polestar has stated that the purpose of the tournament is to enhance the love of futsal within the younger generation and to keep the younger generation physically fit.
