A fishing competition to be held at Ihavandhoo on the occasion of Fishermen’s day

Ha. Ihavandhoo is preparing to hold a fishing competition on the occasion of this years Fishermen’s Day.

The council of the island stated that, the purpose of this competition is to value the islands families with fishermen, and since the island consists of a lot of families with fishermen, and in order to uphold the legacies of the their forefathers by increasing the love for fishing. The council associates with Ihavandhoo Masveringe Gulhun (IMAG) to hold this competition.

This competition is opened for anyone who would like to participate. The council states that, it can either be an office, a club or even could make a group on their own as well to participate.

Like all the other competitions, from this competition, 1st 2nd and 3rd place will also be chosen. Moreover, the person who catches the most number of fishes will also be chosen as well. The competition will underway at 1600 on the 10th December and the participants could join till 9th.

The council also stated that the weighing of the fishes will commence on the open space in front of the Ihavandhoo opened stage.
