Sh. Atoll hospital has introduced an internal medicine department in the hospital and had started to cater for patients.
Sh. Funadhoo hospital has officially hired an internal medicine doctor for consultations. And the news has also been confirmed by the hospital as well.
After starting the newly department and when asked by “Thiladhun” news, hospitals manager Ahmed Zumrath has stated that today is indeed a very happy day. And after starting this service, he stated that this would bring a lot of ease and prosperity for the people in the region.
Moreover, he stated that the trips the regional people takes to go to Ungoofaaru, Kulhudhufushi and Male’ for internal medicine puposes will end hopefully. And this is also a promise for the people of the island as well.
He also added that anyone who visits could easily consult the doctor as well. Moreover, once this department kickstarts, the surgical department in the hospital would also get an advantage along with the COVID-19 facility as well, according to Zumrath.
He also said that the next target for the hospital is to get a scanning doctor. And he said, in order to hire one, they have been working very hard now.
He also thanked the current government for always looking after the Funadhoo hospital and in the 2021 year budget, the government had also added to build a new hospital in Funadhoo as well.
So far, the hospital has an operation doctor, gynecologist, pediatrician, dentist and also an anesthesiologist as well.
