HA. Dhidhoo’s Football Ground Opened After 13 Years

After over a decade, HA. Dhidhoo’s football ground was opened, Tuesday afternoon.

The northern football ground of the capital of HA. Administration was opened in a ceremonial football event that took place at 4:15 pm. The chief guest for the opening match was President of HA. Dhidhoo council, Mohamed Hashim. The ceremony was attended by high officials from various institutions, businessmen, and notable figures who facilitated the ground’s set up.

Parliamentarian Abdulla Waheed who represents Dhidhoo constituency stated that, the opening of the football ground will be an exultation for youth and football enthusiasts of all ages. He sends his gratitude to everyone who actively worked to set up the football ground and praised their continuous effort.

The inceptive bricks to set up Dhidhoo’s football ground was laid out during President Nasheed’s administration. However, due to many unavoidable circumstances, the finishing of the ground was deferred.

The friendly football match held in honour of the northern football ground’s inaugural was played between Lycan Sports Club and Baazbo Team. Lycan Sports Club won the match with a score of 4 against 3.
